Kapil, There is no built in support for Splines in Java 3D. You will have to create a LineArray that joins your control points manually. There is however a spline Interpolator:
com.sun.j3d.utils.behaviors.interpolators.RotPosScaleTCBSplinePathInterpolat or You could either cannibalize the source to this (available, as it is in the utils package) or "drive" the Interpolator to output your 3D points for your spline (by reading the Transform3D the Interpolator is modifying). If you use ByRef geometry the performance should be good enough that the users would be able to dynamically edit the spline. Boolean operations: Much harder and Java 3D won't provide much help here. Your going to need a good 3D geometry book! Picking points: There is a sample on www.j3d.org that does this. I am trying to develop CAD software in java3d as my graduate level project. I need help from the java3d experts/practitioners on following points: 1) How to represent Splines in java3d? 2) How to provide Boolean operations? 3) How to Pick Points and Lines (they dont enclose Area and j3d doesn t pick them) ? These are some of the major difficulties I am facing. Please cud anyone help me out? Thank You.
