I'd be happy to take it, on the condition that I can license it under
the LGPL. If it is your own code then I don't see that as being a
problem. If it belonged to Sun, then their typical licensing conditions
make that really hard to do (old-style BSD clauses etc).

Todays task is to take Daniel's code and merge that in....
