It is best to put images somewhere on the web in such case - so who
wants can check it out.

Your problem is tied to sorting. You have to enable transparency sorting
on your view (java3d 1.3 only). OR, if you can accept it, use ADD
blending - it is order independent. OR, use alpha test, so anything with
0 alpha will be ignored and rest will be written to z buffer.

Generally I would propose you using ADD for energy-like effects and
alpha test for 'solid' particles.
