Hi there, i've some problems with Java3D 1.3 beta 1. Sometimes, while just rotating the scene, the appearances of some shapes change or even start flickering. The change can happen from frame to frame. I think there's is something wrong with the state sorting. Going back to the 1.2.1_03 release i cannot reproduce the bug.
