Well I'm not sure but is your ModelClip in the same TransformGroup as your
box? I think it will be affected by it. (I did something similair with
ModelClip or nearly exactly the same except of placing the cutting plane
but that was in mixed-mode-rendering). You could also have a look of one
of the example codes provided by Sun in your

java_install_directory/demos/java3d/modelclip
