These guys are reading DICOM with JAI but I not sure they will share. www.emageon.com
So far all the MRI file reading that I have had to do has been: skip header, start reading. DICOM is probably pretty tough. I am attaching a post from the JAI group. This guy from the JAI user's group seems to have gone pretty far though. Maybe worth contacting. So you are going for some volumetric data sets? I'd be anxious to see that happen. Attachment: From: Adam Feffer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: byte image processing Content-Type: multipart/alternative; Hi, I Have been working trying to open and display images from DICOM files. So far I have gotten to the point that I can extract an image from the Dicom file in the form of a byte array. Along with the array, I also have access to all of the properties of the image, ie: bits per pixel, pixel aspect ratio, Endianness, image size, photometric interpretation... The Photometric Interpretation types that DICOM supports are Monochrome, RGB, Palette Color, HSV, CMYK, YBR full, and YBR partial. Starting with this byte array and the knowledge of these attributes (and others) what is the best way to construct a planar image?
