Hello,

My company is working on the ahead-of-time optimizing Java compiler called
Excelsior JET. You might have learned a bit about our product from the Jacob
Marner's report, which, as I have noticed, is referred to in this list quite
often.

We have just released JET 2.5 and are now choosing the direction(s) in which
we shall be enhancing our product by version 3.0. One of the areas that
attracts us is of course server-side Java, where many of the big players
(and the big money) are at the moment. However, we think the emerging Java
gaming industry may have even more potential given the percentage of time an
average PC is used for entertainment versus for work. So we are thinking
about making some research in this field. And first of all we would like to
run and profile some benchmarks to find out whether JET already delivers
considerable performance improvement over the HotSpot 1.4 VM and what has to
be improved in our product to make it more useful to game developers.

Therefore, I would be grateful if you colleagues could point me to a few
comprehensive Java3D benchmarks. If you have developed or are working on a
performance-sensitive Java3D game or application, perhaps you could let us
use it for our experiments?

Any thoughts on the above matter would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Dmitry Leskov
