We have had some problems with our Java3D application (running OpenGL 1.3beta2) crashing, and freezing the system, after resizing the application window. This behavior was exhibited on two of our three systems (it has rarely ever happened on my system) and is fairly deterministic on one of the systems -- the system always crashes after resizing the window once. The hardware on our systems is the same and the software is mostly the same. These systems are Win2000 machines with dual 1ghz Pentium IIIs, 1gb ram, and 32mb ATI Radeon VE video cards.
This behavior is not exhibited on the DirectX 1.3beta2 version or on any of the other Java Swing applications/applets we have run or on the OpenGL applications we have run. We also have another system that we run our application on. That system has never had problems with crashing after resizing or with the other problem we had with J3DGraphics2D colors getting messed up. This systems is a Win2000 machine with dual 1.2ghz AMD Athlons, 1gb ram, and a 32mb NVidia Geforce2 video card. I was wondering if similar problems from resizing have been reported or if this is unusual.
