The mousebehavior callbacks are like feedback loops to the program that allow you to know which transformgroup was acted upon by whichever mousebehavior generated the callback.
If you look through the examples of mouse behaviors, I believe that there is an example that does what you propose. One object rotates by matching the rotation imposed upon another object by a mouse rotation behavior. From what i recall they are statically linked which may or may not be what you want. If you want to be able to pick two objects with a mouse and lock them together, then you will definitely need some type of callback feature to identify which objects are being clicked on.
