                         Web3D 2003 Symposium

8th International Conference on 3D Web Technology
                        http://Web3D.org/s2003

                       March 9 - March 12, 2003
                          Saint Malo, FRANCE

                             Sponsored by
ACM SIGGRAPH and the WEB3D CONSORTIUM

The symposium will focus on the frontiers of 3D technologies and
multimedia. The annual Web3D Symposium is a major event in the Web3D
community, which unites researchers, developers, experimenters, and
content creators in a dynamic learning environment. Attendees share
and explore methods of using, enhancing, or creating new 3D web
technology such as MPEG4, X3D, VRML, OpenHSF, and Java3D.

Papers:
Web3D 2003 Symposium will accept papers in the following three
categories: applications, research, and systems. All content
must be innovative and meaningful to the advancement of 3D
technologies on the web. Topics of interest include but are not
   limited to:
    - high performance 3D graphics for distributed environments
      and teleoperation systems

    - Computer Aided Design technology and methods for lossless
      cross-application data exchange

    - 3D graphics for wireless PDAs and cellular phones

    - animated humanoid figures and complex reactive characters

    - specifications, languages, or abstractions for specifying 3D
      geometry and their behaviors

    - methods for designing, representing, interacting with, and
      visualizing complex geometry and structure

    - geometry/object behaviors in Web3D settings

    - interaction methods for web-based 3D graphics systems

    - innovative user interface paradigms for navigating real-time
3D graphics environments and virtual worlds

    - multimodal user interaction in virtual worlds

Paper Submission Procedure and Format:
Authors of original unpublished papers of up to 12 pages are invited
to submit their work for careful review by the International Papers
Committee. Papers must be written in English and submitted
electronically in PDF format by 11:59pm PST, September 20, 2002 via
   our submission page:
      http://Web3D.org/s2003/submit
ALL paper submissions must follow ACM's camera-ready format
requirements. Additional information on this can be found here:
      http://Web3D.org/s2003/template

Notifications to Authors:
The primary author will be notified of the outcome of the reviewing
   process by November 15, 2002.

"Humanism is dead. Animals think, feel; so do machines now.
Neither man nor woman is the measure of all things. Every organism
processes data according to its domain, its environment; you, with
all your brains, would be useless in a mouse's universe..."
