Hi,
I am new to the field of 3D programming.
I am working on Linux environment and have installed java1.2.2
(JDK) earlier. Now I have installed java3D API fron the
sun.java.com for linux.
I wanted to check the correctness of the installation and I ran
HelloUniverse.
I get the following error.

Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException
        at HelloUniverse.main(HelloUniverse.java, Compiled Code)

And I tried to run the sample programs by clicking on the links in
the index.html.
But it says applet not initialized.
I haven't installed Java 2D API. Is it necessary??
Please let me know what I should do to get this working.

Thank you
Regards
Vamshi
