You need to set texture coordinates manualy (see TriangleStripArray) or set a TextureCoordinateGenerator to your Appearanche bundel. You should use TEXTURE_COORDINATE_2 instead TEXTURE_COORDINATE_3 unless you wanna use 3D textures. Read the java 3d tutorial for details.
