Some ideas here...

(1) Remove the fog node.
(2) Set the fog start distance to MAX_VAL

... bot methods are guaranteed to completely remove the fog, though I do not
know their respective performance (worst case, for fog start distance set to
max_val the card still calculates an (empty) term for each pixel) but would
prefer (1)

I would like to create 2 buttons: one which turns on a
fog effect and one thatt turns it off.  I know how to
create the effect of fog and add it to the branch
group, but don't know a way to add and takeaawy the
effect by the press of a button.  Can anyone help?
