Although there seems to be a bunch of other rendering issues floating around JDK1.4 I haven't yet seen this one raised. The rendering of the J3D window gets very stuttery whenever I do anything with mouse events.
My code is a little unusual in that I use a MouseListener directly added to the Java3D canvas rather than using a behaviour with WakeupOnAWTEvent. The result is that any time I use the mouse over the window I get a very jerky visual response. I've done a lot of checking through my code and removed pretty much everything except the minimal work to get navigation going and that allows me to say with a great degree of confidence that it is not my code causing this output. I'm currently running 1.4.1rc1 but I only upgraded to that this morning. Same effects on 1.4.0_01. Both OpenGL and DX renderers are showing this response and on two different video cards (ATI & Nvidia). Any thoughts on the assembled crowds about what's going on? Considering all the other issues with 1.4.x so far, there'll be a FAQ entry going in shortly. -- Justin Couch http://www.vlc.com.au/~justin/ Java Architect & Bit Twiddler http://www.yumetech.com/ Author, Java 3D FAQ Maintainer http://www.j3d.org/ ------------------------------------------------------------------- "Humanism is dead.
