As steve said, Portfolio is broken and also now dead (see his email froma couple of days ago). > A related comment is that the code at j3d.org would benefit from > brief descriptions of it's functionality, viewable without having > to download all the code. It loads DEM files, what else do you need to know? :) It conforms to the standard Sun Loader interface and implied semantics. It does no distortion correction, nor map of the earth curvature calcs - all data is rendered as a flat grid. Also, it's not particularly thoroughly tested. The stock USGS DEM files that I've found parse OK, but I haven't tried to do any serious viewing of the data yet. > Another drawback of j3d.org (from my point of view :)) is that the > code isn't compiled and separated into JAR files. Earlier versions are, but the latest isn't. That's me being slack. I've got a dev release of the code already tarballed, I just need to post it to the j3d.org site. -- Justin Couch http://www.vlc.com.au/~justin/ Java Architect & Bit Twiddler http://www.yumetech.com/ Author, Java 3D FAQ Maintainer http://www.j3d.org/ ------------------------------------------------------------------- "Humanism is dead.
