I which case you certainly don't have the latest dev release code being
executed. This was a bug introduced in M5 and has been deleted and there
are two bugs in the current dev snapshot that make it completely
impossible for the loader code to even parse the file.

Check that you don't have an earlier copy of Xj3D floating around in
another directory in your classpath or some place like the JRE lib/ext
directory.
