I uninstalled and reinstalled eveything (1.3.1_04 JDK, 1.3 Java3D SDK/RT,
and the Java Plug-in). I still can't get any of the demo to run.

I tried running C:
\jdk1.3.1_04\demo\java3d\HelloUniverse\HelloUniverse_plugin.html in IE and
Netscape and also via AppletViewer. I tried just running the class file
too. Like before I get no exceptions on the console but it just doesn't
seem to do anything. It would say applet started or applet loaded and then
a blank screen.

I am certainly missing something!

For running the applet in the browser part I referened Rajesh Gupta (on
j3d.org) and tornadolabs.com instructions to generate keystore and sign the
jar file and grant all permissions. According to them I need to sign the
applet in order to run it as a standalone or as an applet loaded from the
local file system. When I tried nothing happened, and I didn't get any
exceptions in the JPI console.

Still, shouldn't I at least see it running in AppletViewer if it's
permission related in IE...

I am taking a Graphics course and wanted to use Java 3D APIs. With my luck
so far maybe I need to go back to C and just use the low level non
object-oriented OpenGL APIs - sad. :-(

I have downloaded java3d and tried to run the demos in my browser - did not
get any error msgs but the applet doesn't do anything. I tried the
HelloUniverse - microhelp at the bottom says Applet loaded but nothing
happend. I checked my Java Plug-In and the JRE is pointing to my SDK
installed directory...

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tammy
