(warning! message contains testemonial) There were great doubts a few
years ago when we started the project and Java3D was chosen as the
rendering API (I was the biggest doubter of them all). Three years
later, it was fabulous to just dump the .class files on a completely
different environment (SGI machines running Irix6.5) and see them work.
Getting the configuration for correct viewing in CAVE was also alot less
effort than we originally thought. Overall, we are very glad to have
chosne Java3D.

Ooops. I meant j3d.sharedstereozbuffer but the problem is specific to
the hardware we had.

That's in Java3D 1.3 I wager? We have to use Java3D 1.2.1 since the
system runs Irix.
