[JAVA3D] Null GraphicsConfiguration

I tried running the code:

SimpleUniverse.getPreferredConfiguration()

on a Windows 2000 machine and everything worked fine.

I 'upgraded' to Windows XP and now I get this error.

I am using a Matrox Millennium G400 DualHead MAX, with updated drivers from the website.

Can anyone help me?
