You forgot the dot in your classpath. Java classloaders is looking for classes *only* in the classpath, so if the current folder is not included in the classpath, it won't find anything.
Also, the classpath setting you have in your example bellow is wrong. Java classloaders don't use wild cards. Try the following command: java -classpath .
