3d Web animation is easy with Java & you can use
3d Studio Max models exported as VRML & loaded with the
Sun VRML Loaders and animated with Java3d or Java 1.1.

Studio Max 3d "BiPed" Animated with Java3d, Java 1.1
----------------------------------------------------
http://www.frontiernet.net/~imaging/shout3d/models/StudioMax_Biped.wrl
http://www.frontiernet.net/~imaging/H-Anim_Avatars.html

^-- double click on "Studio Max Biped" or click once & press "Load"
 ( Shout3d Java 1.1 VRML Rendering Engine ),
the SAME model ALSO works with the Sun VRML Loaders with animation.
 - works with animation ( shown ), drag mouse for rotations.

VRML animated with Java 1.1, Java3d by Nasa & Me:

Blaxxun, Spazz3d, and Shout3d also have tools for
exporting VRML from Studio Max 3d, which can then
be animated with Java 1.1, Java3d, or the plug-ins.

Human Animaton of Web3d.org's VRML based H-Anim Avtars
with Gestures and Sound can be done in a browser
( or out ) with Java3d on Windows & Linux without
certificates, despite the lies and misinformation
from Prentice-Hall and the Yumetech liars as you
can see in the above web page images and Java 1.1
programs ( with Protos removed when Shout3d is used ).

| Hi all!
|
| I'm using Starfire's 3ds loader to load 3DMax models.
|
| During the load process it looks like to be everything OK.
|
| But after I followed the (Starfire's) instructions nothing
| shows up in my universe.
|
| What I'm doing wrong ? [ I'm using Java3d. ]

Use whatever works best, and try exporting VRML
and doing the VRML animation with the Sun VRML Loaders
and try the Sun Java3d Fly Through Demo
( free source code available from Sun ).

This was exported from 3d Studio Max and animated
with _ BOTH _ Java3d and Java 1.1 ( without Java 1.1 )
and you can see the latter animation here:

Web3d.org, Navy PGS, NIST, & NSF VRML models can be
animated with Java3d & the Sun VRML Loaders
( some files run without modification, some were modified ):
