Ah, yes. I didnt realize that the geometry leaf node could be shared between multiple Shape3Ds inherently.
I was thinking that another possible solution, though less elegant, would be to have 1000 Shape3Ds, each with their own geometry leaf node, but for each geometry leaf node have it access the geometry data BY_REF instead of BY_COPY.
