--- Begin Message ---Dear All, I am learning Java3D now and I have some experience in Java, computer graphics (OpenGL), I am just wondering if it is possible to develop an application which associates Java3D with J2EE/EJB to provide collaborative interactive 3D environment across the network. what I am trying to do is to develop a J2EE application which can allow design collaboration. The scenario would be: two designers are working on their own machines connected to the internet, and they want to co-design some 3D scenes which consist of several 3D objects such as a Sphere or a Cube, since there are software such as AutoCAD which can generate 3D models, I believe the two designers can generate 3D scenes respectively, and probably export their 3D scenes as X3D files, I am thinking that if it is possible to store the 3D scenes/objects in a database, and if a J2EE application can allow users to locate and retrieve 3D scenes/objects from the database, then use java3D to visualize the 3D scenes, manipulate shared 3D objects within it and then save the scenes/objects back to database. Since I just have some rough knowledge about Java3D and X3D( I do know a bit XML), I am not sure if my idea sounds viable and that can be implemented easily. And if there should be other way to develop such an applicaion. So would anyone please give me any suggestions and advices? I would very appreciate any of your help. Thank you very much! Sincerely, Mian __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Tax Center - forms, calculators, tips, more http://taxes.yahoo.com/
