Thanks for nicely constructed test case -- it makes our job much easier!

In our Java 3D 1.3.1 pre-FCS snapshot your test case runs without leaks.
Memory use settles to about 2200KB.

I've verified that there does appear to be a memory leak using your test
case with Java 3D 1.3.  Consumption gradually increases and GC becomes
progressively slower, to about 2 seconds per GC, when memory is finally
exhausted.
