Hi,

I've searched the web extensively, and I can't find any examples of
people using Locales - so I'm crying out for help. I'm trying to model
the Solar System in high res, but I'm having problems between metres and
light years. Im guessing that this is where Locales help out.

The Plan:
Create a grid of locales covering the Solar System, with locale's having
a distance of a planets diameter between them.
As this would create a huge number of locales, I'd need some way to
dynamically create, or recycle them.

Questions:
a) Can you see geometry in a locale other than the one the ViewPlatform
is attached to?
b) When the ViewPlatform is moved between Locales, does Java3D have to
do a lot of work?
c) When would it be best to move the ViewPlatform? post render or using
a wakeonelapsedframes behaviour?
d) How large is it recommended to have the collection of Locales for a
Universe and whats the insert and remove spped from this collection?

Best Regards,
David.

Please ignore my previous post about doubles instead of floats - I
didn't understand how Java3D copes with large universes. I had this
crazy notion of just specifying the whole scene in doubles, before
realising your average graphics card only deals with single precision.
