Hello everyone!

I've been working on a virtual lab for Dr. Charles Grisham in the Chemistry department
at the University of Virginia, and I would like to invite you all to try out the
application we've been working on by downloading the installer from:

http://lab3d.chem.virginia.edu/download/electrophoresis/index.html

I would really appreciate any comments/suggestions for the project, and I'd like to
thank everyone for helping me out over the past several months. Your help has greatly
contributed to this project.

You can email me feedback, or if you have even more time on your hands feel free to
fill out this evaluation form:

I would like to ask a couple questions regarding the project. First of all there are
4 scenes that are getting created at the very beginning (only 2 can be accessed at the
beginning) and the scenes can be changed by clicking on the tabs. The rendering speed
goes down for each new scene that one navigates in, so I set the first 2 scenes to
null when the user goes to the 3rd scene to help rendering speed. So I appreciate any
suggestions/explanations on this issue. One of the things that I haven't tried is
increasing the available VM memory so I'll try that next. I don't have a lot of time
or tools to worry about performance, but this is something that I would really like to
work on in the future.

Lastly, it takes a lot of time to load the experiment even on fast computers, so I was
wondering if there would be a way to have a server that already has instances of the
Canvas3D objects that could be passed to the client over the network. I have no idea
how long that would take and haven't tried it.

That's all for now and thanks again,

Jason Cheatham
