I know this is a technical forum. But I could not resist myself in adding a few lines in response of the quote from Greg Slant about our heightened awareness about all things alive. This may be true that we have reached maturity in our understanding of humanism and the rest of it, but in today's context such understandings only prove that people who have such understandings are relatively helpless and is almost non-existence . If people like George Bush can get away with anything there is something fundamentally wrong in the current system of democracy. How can this guy can become a president? If we cannot do anything with this surely we shall be drawn more and more towards the cave-life that we originated from.
