I'm not sure if such a command line option has been made public,
though optimizeForSpace will do something to the *contrary*.

>From one of Kelvin's recent post, any capability bit that will edit
GeometryArray will preclude the use of displaylist. Apart from
ByRef bit, ALLOW_COORDINATE_WRITE would be one such bit, I think.
