The failure of Sun and Apple to reach agreement on licensing Java3D for OS X is harming those of us who have invested so much in developing software for Java3D and OS X, as well as those who have purchased OS X machines. It is caused by the childish behavior of the Sun and Apple CEOs, who care more about their contest of egos than about their user communities. Porting Java3D to OS X is technically trivial and was accomplished long ago. The licensing fee is also peanuts on a corporate scale. The failure of Apple to pay it, or Sun to forgive it, is causing much greater damage to their users.
