Hi All,
I just upgraded my video card from an Asylum GeForce FX 5200 128M to an Asylum GeForce FX 5600 256M. I have several Java3D applications that ran fine on the 5200 which are now resulting in the following error on the 5600:
Fail to lock Vertex Buffer - D3DERR_DRIVERINTERNALERROR
The problem seems to occur whenever I try to render a textured poly where the texture contains alpha. Has anyone seen this before? The J3D openGL version has no problem rendering my scene with the same code… but the DirectX version has this problem with DX 9.0a or 9.0b. I’d like to run Direct X version because it seems to be faster at screen capture, and rendering of the movie I am generating.
Here are some more details:
I’m running latest Java3d 1.3.1 , JDK 1.4.1_02, and JMF 2.1.1e on a Dell PWS530 with Dual Xeon 2.0 GHz box with a gig of Ram. When I called the customer support for the card, their only suggestion was to exchange the card for a new one of the same model, and try again. I had my doubts, but did it anyhow. As I suspected, it had no effect.
Thanks in advance for any input,
alan
