Where exactly is the line between slander and freedom of speech? Also, doesn't the international nature of internet newsgroups make it difficult to prosecute? I have seen lots of flame wars over the years (and this is one of them) and I think most people can sense which are the sane posters and which are the lunatics. I personally think the thing to do is ignore the lunatics.
