I have the STANGE suspicion that SUN got scared in the current economic
climate and decided that they would be willing to make a fair/reasonable
deal with Apple, as opposed to no deal at all.

Sun does after all have seriously declining revenues, while apple has
increasing revenues.

Theyre like two bickering/fighting children.  But, ironically, both will
be better off in the long run after making this move.
