Thanks very much !
Here is the stack of the exception:
java.awt.Component.checkGD(Unknown Source)
java.awt.Container.checkGD(Unknown Source)
java.awt.Container.addImpl(Unknown Source)
javax.swing.JLayeredPane.addImpl(Unknown Source)
java.awt.Container.add(UnknownSource)
etc...
If I manage to set correctly the graphics configuration for my Canvas3D, I was wondering if there would not be a conflict between the graphics configuration set for Java3D and the one set for Swing....
Maybe what I'm saying makes no sense, I dont' know...

Java3D is seeing the graphics configuration on both heads of the card,
create an array of graphics devices (head[0], head[1]) and add components
to them. I can send you example code if you cant find it anywhere.

Hi,
I am using Java3D/OpenGL with a NVidia Quadro FX500 in dualView mode
(two monitors).
I have a problem when I extend my application's main window on the two
monitors.
When I try to open one of my application document (JInternalFrame),
then creating a new "Canvas3D" (each document being a single Virtual
Universe), I have this error message :
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: adding a container to a container
on a different GraphicsDevice
Nevertheless, if I open my document while the main window only spreads
on one monitor, and then I extend the window on the second monitor,
and drag my document so that it is displayed on the second monitor, it
works fine.
It looks like it is not due to Java3D but more to the swing
JDesktopPane component.
Any clue anyway? How can I set the graphics configuration to use two
monitors ?
Thanks
