[JAVA3D] Java3D on an SGI

I recently installed the SGI Java2 and Java3D runtime code and ported a PC Java code to my SGI and tried to run it.  It blew up in J3D with "Native code outside the VM".  Has anyone any experience with this?  Can you direct me to a good source of information if not?
