Too many triangles, eh? I'd say you're probably right :-)
However, an algorithm to reduce the number in this particular application does not 
survive contact with a critical effort-benefit analysis at this point, so it will have 
to wait. It does not affect performance (FPS) much, so I'm happy.

Any overlapping triangles would have to be generated by the GeometryInfo class and I 
doubt whether it has any such shortcomings. That is, disregarding the two sides of the 
same polygon, of course (see my reply to mr. Herinean)

Stripifing didn't do anything for appearance, but may have increased FPS a little. Now 
that it looks OK I can try that again.

No transparencies at all, I'm afraid

(after looking at the closeup screenshot i would say: too much)

do you have overlapping triangles ?


What happens if the array is stripified first ?


Do you set any transparancy-attributes ?
