Do you have your scenegraph set up like

rootNode->ScaleTransformation->OffsetTransform->Geometry

?

If so, you are scaling the offset transform as well as the geometry, so
it makes sense that it's moving across the screen.
Try setting up your scenegraph like:

rootNode->OffsetTransform->ScaleTransformation->Geometry

Just make origin (0,0,0) be in the center of whatever you are scaling.
