Well thank you for your response
but I have solved the problem temporarily by creating an object of type
"set". A set ofcourse eliminates duplicates ,but I going to try the
aforementioned GeometryInfo apraoch too.

Couch is right.
The GeometryInfo class will help you move from a
"generic" Geometry to a IndexedGeometryArray.
See GeometryInfo javadocs.
