Java 3D/Swing Product Development Software Engineering Contractor
Quantum4D is a San Francisco based starup company developing a next generation large dataset Data Visualization tool that uses real- time 3D Graphics. We are seeking an expert level Java programmer with 3D Graphics experience to lead our team.
Requirements: * 3-5 Years professional experience programming client-side Java (J2SE) applications. Candidates with only server-side experience will not be considered. * Knowedge of the fundamentals of 3D graphics, preferably from at least one college-level course * Experience with Java 3D. Be prepared to show a demo of a program you wrote in Java 3D. * Expert level knowledge of Swing (at least 2 years experience). Be prepared to discuss pitfalls commonly encountered with Swing, and how to avoid them. Show us a demo. * Knowledge of and experience with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle. Experience having worked on a shipping software product is a big plus. * Expert level OOA/OOD experience. You have architected and developed large scale Java applications and can discuss their architectures at length. * Experience with the MVC architecture. * Experience with iterative programming techniques and Extreme Programming. Ability to work in a fast paced environment where things change quickly. * Knowledge of programming patterns. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferable: * SQL and JDBC Experience, including database schema design. * Knowledge of low-level distributed programming/client-server APIs including JMS, RMI, and JSDT. * Knowledge of Data Warehousing, Extract/Transform/Load (ETL), Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) issues, Business Intelligence software. * Knowledge of Business Analytics such as SAS. * Knowedge of interfacing with Enterprise software systems like SAP. * Experience leading a team of engineers. * Knowledge of installers, obfuscators, and Ant. * Knowledge of Eclipse.
Education: * BS Computer Science (or related field of study).
