I'm fairly sure I read both pieces of information on this site, both sourced from an address that appeared to be a sun on. Maybe it was a question of embittered developers who have just been made reduntant but for the following three months or so Sun said nothing about the matter, so what are we supposed to think in that time?

Sun still has Java 3D team? The information that further development of J3D was stopped is wrong - elsewhere there wouldn't be plans for version 1.4, plans for making it open source and so on. The information that Sun has fired all J3D developers is completely wrong - elsewhere nobody would maintain the buglist, nobody from Sun would post here within this mailinglist, nobody from Sun would be interested in working testcases which reproduce bugs in J3D and of course nobody would be in the J3D-boot at the Java One conference. Both disinformations come from one website and have done a very big damage for J3Ds reputation in my opinion. > -----Original Message----- > From: Discussion list for Java 3D API > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Friday, June 18, 2004 5:21 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [JAVA3D] ANNOUNCEMENT: Java 3D @ JavaOne 2004 > > > This "information" is completely wrong, weeks after that bullshit was > announced there the Buglist was maintained and Sun-employees which are > responsible for J3D posted here in the J3D mailainglist. > > On Thu, 17 Jun 2004 23:01:49 -0400, David Du <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > >> HI, I remember I learned from j3d website that Sun has let the last >> employee >> of Java3D team leave, so there are no Java3D team anymore in Sun, how >> come >> there will be a Sun Java 3D team staffing booth 927 in the Pavilion? >> >> Thanks >> >> David > > -- > http://www.3dchat.org - Welcome To The Unreal World > http://java3d.virtualworlds.de - The J3D Developers Ressource > > =========================================================================== > To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include in the > body > of the message "signoff JAVA3D-INTEREST".
