As you know from our announcement, the Java 3D source code is now available on java.net. The home page for the parent project for Java 3D on java.net is http://java3d.dev.java.net/
With this source release, we will be taking advantage of the tools on java.net for issue (bug) tracking, forums, automated CVS log messages, and announcements. There is also a discussion mailing list on java.net, [EMAIL PROTECTED] , that serves much the same purpose as this [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list does now. Because of this, and because mail sent to the java.net interest list is automatically cross-posted to the Java 3D forum (and vice-versa), we invite all members of the existing [EMAIL PROTECTED] to join the new [EMAIL PROTECTED] list. You may of course continue to stay on [EMAIL PROTECTED], but we expect most of the discussion for future releases to take place over on java.net (that's the one we'll be monitoring most closely). To join the [EMAIL PROTECTED] list, you need to do the following. 1. Join java.net if not already a member. The URL is https://www.dev.java.net/servlets/Join 2. Login to java.net (using your existing account or the one you created in step 1). The URL is https://www.dev.java.net/servlets/Login 3. Go to the "Request project membership/role" in the java3d project and request the "Observer" role. The URL is https://java3d.dev.java.net/servlets/ProjectMembershipRequest NOTE: we are not yet accepting any requests for "Developers" or "Content Developers", so be sure to select the "Observer" radio button. 4. Wait until your request for project membership is approved (this should be within 24 hours, even during the week we are off). 5. Go to the "Mailing lists" page for the java3d project and sign up for the mailing list(s) you desire. The "interest" list is the discussion alias. The URL is https://j3d-core.dev.java.net/servlets/ProjectMailingListList 6. Reply to the mail sent by the automated mailer program to confirm your mailing list subscription request. You will get a separate confirmation e-mail for each mailing list that you subscribe to. If you want to get automated CVS messages for the individual sub-projects, go to the sub-projects (using the instructions above, but type the sub-project name instead of java3d).
