No tips, but I can confirm the problem.
The same happens to me with Slackware 10.0, Linux 2.6.7, Xorg's x11-6.7.0, jdk 1.4.2_04, j3d 1.3.1fcs

Hi, Last night I was testing new NVidia driver - Linux IA32 61.06. The new driver is cool, running fine glxgears, Quake 3, etc. But when I try to run my Java3D app crashes with the following error:
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /j2sdk1.4.2_04/jre/lib/i386/libJ3D.so: libGL.so.1: cannot handle TLS data.
I tested both J3D 1.3.1 and J3D 1.3.2 build 4. I switch back to vdriver rel. 53.36 and everything works fine again. My Linux is a Debian - kernel 2.4.22
Any tip will be welcome.
