My fellow developers, I've met some of you at the town hall meetings in the past, and perhaps talked a great length about this project. This message is an invitation to investigate what's been done so far to create a virtual space that allows for spatial navigation of internet bookmarks.
The basic operation involves loading up an xml definition of a planet-like body with various levels of categories in which to store and locate internt bookmarks. The xml referneces resources like sound files and VRML models to create a per user representation of the internet. The user can add structures to the surface of the planet to record and revisit specific internet sites. This is all rendered with java3d, thank you all at Sun for making this such a joy to work with. Below is a link to the website created to house this project, there you can find screenshots, download installers, and gather more information. The source code is included in the download, along with some build files, so if you'd like to make changes please feel free. In there is interest in donating code I will set up a public repository for this project. Thanks, and I hope you find time to take a look at this roughly beta quality application. Hopefully you will find it useful and fun. http://www.webjack.org -Brian Eppert [EMAIL PROTECTED] =========================================================================== To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include in the body of the message "signoff JAVA3D-INTEREST".
