I downloaded and began playing around with Java3D for the first time
today, but when I ran the demo programs, it appeared that the scene
graph was being rendered twice at an offset. Guessing that stereo had
been enabled for some reason, I added a call to
Canvas3D.setStereoEnable(false) in one of the example files, which cured
the symptoms.

Why is Java3D defaulting to stereo viewing, and is there a fix to this
problem? It's fine to add a call to disable stereo to software that I
have the source to, but this will not always be the case. One of the
demos that is of interest to me is the Javiator flight sim, which does
not come w/ source code.

 I am running on a PII/400, NT4sp3, AccelGALAXY (E&S 2100) card, JDK1.2
& Java3D 1.1.1.

Thanks,

Mark
