Hi Ron!
I think you need JDK 1.2 to run Java3D under IRIX. I have asked SGI for that and they
announced a developer release for "early 1999". I'm still waiting...
Best regards,
Michael

Subject: [java3d] stereoscopic vision
I'm new too Java 3D and need some info. Is it avaiable for sgi running
latest version of IRIX, plus too use java 3d do you need jdk1.2, if so is
this available for IRIX. The reason I'm asking is we have an Immersadesk
that runs off an OCTANE, basically a VR system that uses stereoscopic
vision instead of a head mount. And I would like to do some java
development on it. As of right now I have to do it using OPENGL, and the
libraries that come with the Immersadesk. Please say it is....
