Agreed. I'd add to that that I strongly disagree with their thesis: adding
Java3D applets to Web pages as eye-candy and replacements for
anigifs/Flash/Shockwave. Just look at how many questions we have from
technical folks who can't get J3D to work in their browsers. Now extend that
to Joe User who is seriously challenged by installing the browser itself,
and the idea is just absurd. Consequently, you pay a lot of money for a book
that is 50% source listings and HTML parameter descriptions for applets you
will never want to use because all they do is create spinning text or a
"solar system" you can use for links throughout your site (!). 

This, in short, is the problem with being the first to buy from Amazon.com
or Fatbrain.com. :-) Attention all gurus: people are starved for a good,
solid tutorial text: not an API text, and not a poorly-edited and -conceived
book. We will all buy it if you write it.
