An Alpha version of the 1.2 specification will be on the web some time
next week. We anticipate releasing a 1.2 Alpha implementation in
September. The Alpha release will not be functionally complete and may
or may not have offscreen rendering capability. A functionally
complete Beta release should be available later in the fall.
