Mention service-oriented architecture at a cocktail party and you're
unlikely to win new friendsâor keep your old ones. But you'll be Mr.
Popularity back at the office, where SOA, as it's known, is driving an
evolutionary shift in how corporations use technology.

Service-Oriented-Architecuture or SOA is an infrastructure strategy that
relies on middleware, the connective tissue that binds together different
applications so companies get more mileage out of the software they've
spent untold dollars and man-hours to develop and maintain. SOA essentially
"wraps" existing applications into services components in a way that lets
them share data across a truly heterogenous environment.

The upcoming WebSphere User Group presentation Titled:
"Service-Oriented-Architecture enables On demand" will discuss the
imperatives and integration challenges facing today's developers, IT
projects and CIO's. We will take a look at how
Service-Oriented-Architecture (SOA) helps ease the pain in developing
applications from a component based approach. The basic concepts of
Service-Oriented Architectures (SOAs) and Web services are becoming part of
our everyday language and recognized as a suitable architectural style for
crafting modern enterprise applications. The underlying issues regarding
"what makes good services" are becoming increasingly critical for ensuring
the successful implementation of SOAs. Please register today and join us on
Saturday, the 24th of July, 2004 and listen in on
Service-Oriented-Architecture enables On demand and how it can help you
with your Integration efforts.
