Internal Job Description:
Must have strong experience with hardware testing & with installing SQL or
working experience.

Must have strong documentation since  company and FDA regulated, so it is
very important to document everything that is done.

Overall- must have strong skills with Server Installation, Storage & SQL



Must have in-depth Windows working experience.

Someone who as more in-depth Windows experiences such as DNS, Active
Directory, and hardware validation: Bios, firmware, and device drivers

Responsibilities:

·          Create test plan and test cases based on requirements and
technical specifications to validate the solution and identify issues
·         Develop procedures and automated solutions to baseline and trend
hardware metrics over product revisions
·         Setup and deploy approved solution configurations according to
specification required for testing
·         Escalate and manage vendor incidents and resolution for hardware
validation defects
·         Capture and collect relevant information required to escalate
issues to engineering
·         Actively manage and communicate scope, level of effort, and risk
involved in delivery
·         Work with hardware vendors to proactively manage vendor software
updates and consult with engineering on risk assessments
·         Conduct functional and compatibility testing on approved solution
configurations
·         Document the testing result following the quality processes


Minimum Requirement:

·         Have experience with the validation of vendor provided solutions
for monitoring and management that are not developed by internal development

o    Example:  All Hardware Event IDs generated by HW errors should match
vendor documentation

·         Have hardware expertise in Wintel platform and storage with
regards to configuration and troubleshooting
o    Example: Create/Rebuild RAID Volumes, Generate known HW events such as
Fan failure.

·         Be able to escalate and manage exceptions with the HW vendors
·         Be able to triage, capture, and collect relevant info to escalate
to engineering without requiring multiple round-trips
·         Capable of verifying HW/OS stability across driver/firmware
revisions
o    Example:  Drivers crashing/leaking under load

·         Be able to recognize when to escalate to engineering for risk
analysis when critical updates are identified
o    Example:  a critical update to a RAID controller for data integrity
should be escalate vs a PXE network boot issue

·         Familiar with basic testing tools and windows performance counters
o    Example: IOMeter, SQLIOStress, Load Runner, etc..

·         Have familiarity with Windows Server administration
o    Example:  Can create IIS Application Pool in IIS.

·         Can leverage off the shelf tools for automation and trending
·         Have in-depth understanding of hardware/storage technologies and
constraints in order to test limits
o    Example:  Knows how to do break point testing for technologies such as
RAID/PCI bus/Network/etc.

·         SQL server experience and can perform basic queries and use
profiler
·         Experience in software quality engineering in a commercial
complex, client/server distributed systems software product environment
·         Have prior experience with regulator compliance such as ISO, FDA
