Potential Project Manager opening in Albany, NY.
Currently I do have a long term opening for a Project Manager in Albany.
*MANDATORY EXPERIENCE*
1.Eight (8) years experience managing application design and development
projects
2.Four (4) years experience working with executive level stakeholders
3.Three (3) years design experience in a Java/J2EE environment
Experience with scanning, forms automation, and workflow technologies is
desired.
*Project Description: *
Domestic incidents are the most dangerous calls for law enforcement.
Currently, there is no automated access to Domestic Incident Reports that
DCJS receives from law enforcement agencies. These reports contain critical
public safety information that is not available for investigative use. In
an effort to provide for increased officer and public safety, DCJS intends
to provide electronic storage and access to Domestic Incident Reports. This
would allow law enforcement officials in the field to be alerted of
potential danger in advance of arriving on the scene of a domestic incident.
The data collected will also be used for research purposes in order to gain
further understanding of domestic incidents and reduce the incidence of
domestic violence. The proposed project would be carried out in partnership
with the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence.
The candidate will conduct a field study of domestic incident reporting
practices in New York State. Based on the results of this work,
specifications for an automated system will be developed. The candidate will
be required to travel frequently within the Albany area and occasionally to
other locations around the State. Overnight travel is possible but would be
very infrequent.
