By posing an innovation challenge to mobile application developers, Nokia is offering them an opportunity to break free from the conventional and think smart. To motivate the innovators it has launched a global contest to invite the best of innovations in mobile applications. This contest is open in following categories: • Eco-challenge – applications which help make the world a more environmentally friendly • Emerging markets - applications which help empower the people in developing countries • Technology showcase - applications which reflect the truly cutting edge mobile technologies Winners in all 3 categories will win a cash award of $25k each and an invitation to the Barcelona Mobile World Congress, 2009 where they can showcase their work to leading VCs and mobile operators.
